Digital
Planetary Scanner
Now you
can make clear, crisp, non-distorted copies of bound publications,
even thick reference books or three-dimensional objects, with
Minolta’s revolutionary Publication Scanners. While most scanners
require books to be scanned face down, damaging fragile bindings,
the PS series scans them in a face-up position, using an adjustable
cradle to provide gentle, non stressful support. Even rare, fragile
and deteriorating books can be scanned easily without damage to the
pages or spine.
Minolta Imaging
Technology
With ordinary scanners, page curvature and shadows near the binding
make words difficult to read and illustrations distorted. Using
high-resolution digital imaging technology pioneered by Minolta, the
PS series scanners automatically correct page curvature and line
skewing, and remove shadowing so that even material near the binding
can be read clearly.
The high resolution
also minimizes moiré effects when reproducing screened halftone
images. Automatic edge detection masks out borders and the area
beyond the page for clean, professional-looking output.
Increased
Efficiency and Productivity
The face-up scanning position of the PS series allows two facing
pages to be scanned as one, saving time and money. Copying multiple
pages is fast and easy, since the book does not have to be turned
over repeatedly. Intelligent auto-focus and auto-exposure functions
ensure crisp, clear images of originals without time-consuming
manual adjustments.
